About

The Reed Gillespie Chapter of TU is a fairly small chapter that for the past several years has mainly focused on conservation and education projects.  From supporting Trout in the Classroom, creating an outdoor learning area on Boulder Creek, working on a bank stabilization project on the Wildhorse River and creating better fisherman access points on the South Fork Salmon River, we've contributed to making our area streams and rivers better for coldwater fish.

Our chapter is named for Reed Gillespie in honor of his many community contributions, which included stocking high mountain lakes with fish loaded into a large metal milk container strapped to a frame pack.   A US Army 82nd Airborne Ranger in Sicily, Normandy and Italy during WWII, Reed married Ilah Nisula and worked at Brown Tie and Lumber and Boise Cascade after the war.
